Picture this: It’s 2024, and the world has never seemed more connected. As soulful entrepreneurs, healers, helpers, naturopaths, and nutritionists, it’s crucial for you to communicate, captivate, and resonate with your audience effectively. One strategy that has withstood the test of time is email marketing. Done right, it can help you explode your list, engage your clients, and grow your business phenomenally.
In this blog post, we will explore how to maximize email marketing with two dynamic strategies: implementing a welcome sequence and using a carefully curated nurture sequence.
By unlocking email marketing’s true potential, your wellness business is bound to thrive!
Strategy 1 – Crafting the Perfect Welcome Sequence
A welcome sequence is a series of automated emails that welcome your subscribers immediately after they join your list. Generally these are sent on the back of someone subscribing to receive your freebie, so the first email delivers that and then goes on to provide information.
These emails are crucial as they set the stage for your relationship, demonstrating your expertise and the value you can bring to their lives. Think of this as a “get to know you” sequence, where you share what you do and how you help. You are also delivering your freebie and encouraging them to use it / open it.
Here’s how to create an exceptional welcome sequence:
Email 1: Begin by expressing gratitude for their subscription, set expectations for future emails, and introduce yourself and your brand. Provide the freebie you promised and share how the awesome benefits they will get from using it. Use the bottom of the email to add a hyperlink to your website, if they’d like to check it out.
Email 2: Share a nugget of valuable information from your freebie and how they can implement some useful tips from it. This will showcase your expertise and build trust. Sales are not a predominate feature of these emails, but add your website or discovery call link in a small font as a hyperlink at the bottom (a “ps” field is great for this.. for example “PS – want to find out how I can help you get these great results? Book a free discovery call now”).
Email 3: Share a personal story or your professional journey, demonstrating authenticity and vulnerability while making your subscribers feel connected to you. Link to a blog post or further information about you, or invite to follow you on socials and share your links.
Email 4: Introduce your key services or products, how they related to your freebie (for example, “the recipes in the free guide you downloaded are part of my 30 day detox program”) accompanied by persuasive yet relatable copy that showcases your distinctive approach to healing. Link to your services pages on your website for further information.
Email 5: Share client success stories, testimonials, or case studies to illustrate the impact your services have made. This is a great opportunity to link to a case studies or testimonial page on your website or even the sales page for your upcoming offer.
Strategy 2 – Designing a Powerful Nurture Sequence
A nurture sequence is a series of emails designed to deepen your relationship with your subscribers over time, keeping you top-of-mind, and guiding them through the marketing funnel. A nurture sequence you need to have is a weekly newsletter email. You can also add nurture sequences for specific funnels, programs or packages.
To create a successful nurture sequence:
Your weekly newsletter needs to be short and to the point. I like to stick to a 3 paragraph rule:
Paragraph 1 – the welcome paragraph, with a quick overview of what’s happening and what great things you have going on
Paragraph 2 – the value piece. Here offer them some content that is valuable and useful. It could link to a blog or other content on your website.
Paragraph 3 – the sales piece. The key here is to be casual and conversational, think about what you’d say if you were chatting to someone in a cafe who just asked about your upcoming offer. Keep it light, state a few benefits and provide a link to more info.
Then sign off til next week… simple!
Strategy 3 – Sales Sequences
When you have a program, offer or launch to convey, you need a Sales Sequence. This is a series of 3 to 10 emails that will drop into your contacts account over a 2 or 3 week period. Each email is crafted to promote one particular offer, in a similar way that your welcome sequence promoted the freebie you provided. In this sequence be sure to have an unsubscribe that allows the contact to unsubscribe from the promotional/sales sequence, without leaving your list entirely!
Here are some ideas of what you could include in your weekly newsletters:
Educate: Share insightful and actionable advice or tips related to your niche, establishing your authority and credibility.
Engage: Invite your subscribers to share their thoughts or ask questions. This can be done using polls, surveys or Q&A sessions.
Inspire: Share motivational stories, anecdotes, or quotes in a personalized manner to drive connection and strengthen your relationship.
Promote: Introduce promotional offers, discounts, or limited time specials relevant to your services and products.
Celebrate: Mark milestones, holidays, or special occasions with your subscribers, making them feel included in your journey.
Why Email Marketing is the Future for Soulful Entrepreneurs
In an era where digital marketing channels are abundant, email marketing continues to be a reliable and effective method for building relationships and driving conversions, especially for healers and helpers.
Here’s why email marketing remains essential:
Personalization: Emails allow you to deliver content tailored to each subscriber, deepening engagement and driving conversions.
Controlled Environment: Unlike ever-changing social media algorithms, email marketing offers a stable platform to communicate consistently with your audience.
Measurable Success: Analysing email campaigns’ open, click-through, and conversion rates, you can optimize your strategies and drive business growth.
Cost-Effective: Email marketing often delivers excellent return-on-investment (ROI) when compared to other marketing channels.
So friends, by harnessing the power of email marketing, healers and helpers just like you, can establish, nurture, and grow their relationships with clients, guiding them through a transformational healing journey. By using welcome and nurture sequences, and sales/promotional sequences to back your launches, you’ll find email marketing is a solid foundation for your wellness business, exploding your list and shaping your success in 2024 and beyond.
