You’re toning yourself down. Softening your message. Making yourself more palatable. More professional. More like everyone else.
Because you’re afraid. Afraid that if people see the real you, they’ll judge you. Reject you. Leave.
So you hide. You hide your personality. You hide your perspective. You hide the things that make you different. You hide your gifts and your soul’s mission. You show up as a watered-down version of yourself, hoping that’s enough to attract clients.
But here’s what you don’t realize: the clients you want aren’t looking for a watered-down version of you. They’re looking for the real you. They’re looking for someone who gets them. Someone who thinks like they think. Someone who isn’t afraid to be different.
Your uniqueness isn’t a liability. It’s your competitive advantage. The things that make you different are the things that make you magnetic to your ideal clients.
The clients who are repelled by the real you? They’re not your right-fit clients anyway. They’re the ones who would drain you, question you, and never fully trust you. Let them go find someone else.
Your ideal clients are looking for someone exactly like you. Real. Authentic. Unapologetic. They’re looking for someone who isn’t trying to be everyone’s cup of tea. They’re looking for someone who’s willing to be themselves.
Stop hiding. Your people are waiting for you.
A practitioner was terrified of her spiritual gifts. She was worried that if she talked about her intuitive abilities, her clients would think she was weird, that the industry would shun her, that she wouldn’t be able to build a thriving business. So she hid her gifts, and although she used her natural abilities in practice, no one would ever have known. She showed up as a “normal” practitioner, offering standard services. She got great results for her clients. Her practice was thriving. But she felt empty inside, like she was only half there.
Then she got brave. She started talking about her intuitive approach. She started sharing her perspective. She stopped hiding.
Suddenly, her aligned clients started finding her – ones who wanted both her professional skills AND her intuitive prowess. The ones who were looking for someone with both clinical expertise and intuitive gifts. The ones who got her. The ones who trusted her completely because she was being real.
Her clinic continued to grow, to almost seven figures in a year. She felt more alive than she ever had. She created a community of amazing people who aligned with her vision. She was finally happy and did not get burned out by her business.
Friends, that practitioner… was me.
For so long I was afraid to share who I really was. I’ve felt ostracised by the natural health industry for so long, and always felt like I was “trying to fit in”. But the day I decided to stop caring what others thought and just be myself, was the day everything changed.
So today I ask you, what part of you are you hiding? What’s the real version of you that you’re afraid to show? Write it down. Now ask yourself: “Who would I attract if I stopped hiding this part of me?”
Pick one small way to be more authentically you this week. Share a perspective. Tell a story. Show your personality. Be real.
Notice who responds. Those are your people.
