The new year is coming, and you’re already feeling the pressure. More content. More visibility. More hustle. More, more, more.
But here’s what nobody’s telling you; more doesn’t work. More is exhausting. More is unsustainable. More is why so many entrepreneurs burn out by February.
That is why I think the new year should not be about doing more. It’s about doing less, in more alignment with you. It’s about doing what actually matters.
There’s a difference. Doing more means adding tasks to an already overflowing plate. It means saying yes to every opportunity, every platform, every trend. It means running faster on a treadmill that’s already exhausting you.
Doing what matters means getting ruthlessly honest about what actually moves the needle in your business. Stepping up to do what YOU love to do, and letting your people arrive instead of chasing every new client. It means saying no to everything else. It means building from alignment instead of obligation.
Most business owners are spinning their wheels doing things that don’t matter. They’re posting on platforms where their ideal clients aren’t. They’re creating content nobody’s asking for. They’re chasing metrics instead of results. They’re busy, but they’re not building.
The new year is your year to change that. Your year to get clear on what actually matters. Your year to do less, but do it better. Your year to build something real instead of something impressive. Your year to step into exactly who you want to be in business, making the difference that you were put on this earth to make.
Let’s imagine two businesses starting out in 2026.
Business A creates a plan to post on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest. She plans to write a blog post weekly, launch a podcast, and create an email sequence. She’s going to do it all. By March, she’s burned out, nothing’s converting, and she’s ready to quit.
Business B gets clear on one thing: her ideal clients hang out on LinkedIn and in her email list. She focuses on showing up authentically on those two channels. She writes one blog post every two weeks. She’s consistent, she’s real, and by March, she has new clients, a growing revenue base, and a thriving email community.
Same industry. Same effort (actually, Entrepreneur B is working less). Different results.
The difference? Busienss B did what mattered. Business A did what they should they should be doing, even though they didn’t love it.
Now, it’s your turn…
Get honest. Look at everything you’re currently doing in your business. Make a list. Now ask yourself: “Which of these activities directly lead to clients, revenue, or meaningful impact?”
Everything else? Consider releasing it. Or at minimum, deprioritizing it.
Now, take the activities that matter and ask: “How can I do this better?” Not more. Better. More authentic. More strategic. More aligned.
That’s your 2026 plan. Not more. Better.
